my second excursion overseas was *much* more pleasant than my previous trip to korea. i travelled to the netherlands on 03FEB98 to finally meet some friends i had made via email. i know it sounds crazy (i think my mom was terrified!), but i felt like i knew these people -particularly frank- very well from the months of correspondence that occured before our meeting.

still, writing someone email and visiting them in person are 2 wholly different things, and i must admit that i was a bit anxious about the trip. in the end, though, i had the best vacation of my life, and cemented several incredibly valuable friendships as well.
